When I said that my mood and my homesickness would probably change when the sun came out I don’t think I really realised just how much.
The weather over the last few days has been amazing and all though is going to be short lived the change it has made to my mood is crazy good. I’m actually wearing shorts this week. The legs have been getting some air and it nice not to be wearing ten layers of clothing again.
The city really comes alive in the sun and St James’s park where I went for a picnic and a nap this weekend was full of locals and tourists enjoying the spring blooms and a chance to get their guns out. Even the super gays across the green from our little gathering must have been glad to have some sunshine to go with their tank tops instead of chattering teeth and goosebumps.
It’s only spring here. Summer doesn’t really kick off properly until May but I’m going to make the most of it anyway. The parks are filled with daisy’s and the green shoots and blossoms everywhere give the whole city a real feeling of new life. It mirrors my mood.
After enjoying the park we crossed the Mall as I quickly glanced a view of Buckingham Palace and then we were off to the Red Lion for a pint of cider.
London is much better in the Sunshine.
