>I am confused as to whether I am gay? I dont know how to tell.

I can’t tell you how to know if you are gay. It’s something you need to figure out for yourself.

Sexuality is fluid and it takes time to get to know who we are. I thought I was bisexual for a long time before I came out. I have met guys who have been with guys and then decided they like girls. I have older friends who have children and families from marriages.

If you are having feelings for the same sex then do not be afraid to explore those feelings. It is natural to explore who we are. You should not be afraid of that.

How can you tell if you are Gay? Well if you are sexually attracted to other guys then that is a pretty strong indicator i guess.

Gay is a label we use because it is part of the Human condition that we need to feel that we belong. Don’t be so quick to let your sexuality define who you are. It’s only a very small part of you. Don’t be so quick to label yourself when there is so much fun to be had exploring (just do it safely).

Lastly always remember… you are beautiful the way you are regardless of whether you are Gay Bi or Straight. You are as deserving of love and happiness as any other person on this earth.

It gets better 🙂

Shannon’s answer is bang on. I like how Tom Daley describes his relationship. He’s dating a guy and it feels right. Humans probably do want to put things in categories, but that’s just it. We risk putting ourselves in a box. When I was less mature, I tried to put myself in boxes.

There’s a lot of younger teens coming out as gay or transgender right now. That’s good… but it’s not. Maybe presenting people with options (for lack of a better way to describe it) is not the best thing. Unconditional support means exactly that.

When I was in high school, many years ago, there were lots of love songs on the radio. In my mind, I was singing them to guys I liked, never to girls. Later I realized I was gay. That should have been a big clue.

I don’t know how old you are, but the younger you are, the more likely it is that your sexuality is still developing. I started getting crushes on guys when I was about 12, and realized I was gay when I was 16.

Very well put Shannon, as naturgesetz says i don’t know how old you are but if you are young then investigate your sexuality now. I made a mistake as I found out i liked guys after i was married and had kids now it is hard for me to go out and explore that side of me. Go and enjoy the journey but play it safe always. Oh and if you decide that you want to live the lifestyle then there is always support for you check out what your parents think about homosexuality without going into too much detail and if they are giving positive feedback then you should be safe to “Come Out” with their support. Good luck
